Over time I have taken reflection images or have photographed “reflection”. Here are a few in chronological order.
I really should have gone for X1D with the 90mm vs D300 with the 85mm but this is what I had so this is what I got to try wtih.
I was thrilled that it came – a day early. I rented it from LenRentals.com and to maximize I requested the equipment to arrive Friday. But LensRentals had actually shipped it a day early just so that it would definitely make it to me on time.
Thank you LensRentals.
The equipment was shipped via FedEx and since I was not sure I was going to be home to receive it, I requested it to be held at a local Kinkos / FedEx office and was able to pick it up within minutes of it arriving.
Unfortunately for me, I had not realized that I would be needing a much, much faster storage media. Right off the bat the two 16Gb card I had planned on using did not work. I rushed and got what I considered a very fast card (SONY 64Gb UHS-1 SDXC) but that too was not fast enough. Even though I was able to shoot with it, it was taking too long to be useful. I went out a second time to find something faster and finally after 5 whole hours of having gotten the equipment in my hand I was able to shoot. Then came the challenge of being able to “manually set” and view that my settings stuck.
Next I had the challenge of copying the few images I had taken to my computer and then have them uploaded.
I am happy that I feel I have got the whole workflow, for the most part, down and am now ready to shoot.
Bit the bullet and have ordered it for a 4 day rental. Expecting it to arrive Friday March 10th and will be returning it Tuesday. I have the whole weekend. It will be early spring.
