Comparing 35mm vs 50mm

I am primarily trying to compare the 35mm / 50mm focal length. Not so much my Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 G vs Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 G. Though I would at some point want to compare my Nikon D300 w/35mm vs my Nikon D700 w/50mm, but that’s for another day ;~)

This first comparison is at a Cafe. Indoor and the subject in relative close proximity. the pix on the left column are 35mm and the right 50mm. The viewing area really doesn’t seem to be significantly different.

Compare:Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D vs 24-85mm f/2.8-4D

I finally made a little time to do the compare test. But I was a bit rushed and was not really able to swap the 2 lenses to the 2 Camera Bodies. Instead I only had the 85mm f/1.8D Prime on the Nikon D80 and the 24-85mm f/2.8-4D Macro on the D300 body.

All 4 pair of the shots were taken at the Mozart’s Coffee Roasters on Christmas Day. I was really hoping / expecting the place to be way less crowded 😦

Dec 28th – Not sure I can call it a session, but I did take a few more pix this morning in front of the Apple Store at the Domain. My subject was the “trash can”. This time I did switch the 2 lenses onto the 2 cameras. The pix in the first / left col are taken with the 85mm and the ones in the second / right column are taken with the 24-85mm. The first row is the D80 and the second are the D300.

2016 Worldwide Flickr Photowalks

It has been a while since I have participated in a photowalk. I really do love the participation but lately just have not have had the opportunity.

The theme for the walk was “Macro Textures”. I don’t really have a real macro lens. All I have is my Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4D. Do, I didn’t really get the “textures”, but did get some decent closeup.

Unfortunately the day was really hot and humid. Which, I might not talking on behalf of everyone else, made the walk quite exhausting. But we did go to Shady Grove for some lunch and share the pix we took.
